Onsite adventures include hiking and biking trails, fly fishing in the stocked river, swimming and fishing in the spring fed pond, a skeet shooting course, snowmobile trails, spa and sauna, wildlife viewing and more! You will not find a more complete Northern Michigan experience!
THE MAIN HOUSE

The Main House at the Rapid River Lodge was curated by a professional interior design team, inspired by and actually built to include stone from the Adirondacks. Aside from being set on this spectacular property in the heart of beautiful Northern Michigan, the Main House is an experience within itself! Whether partaking in a frame on the 130 year old snooker table in the main living room, dining in the adjoining Bavarian Room adorned with mounts from Europe and throughout the US, or warming up on the screened porch with a glass of wine in front of a custom stone fireplace created in the shape of lake placid, you will no doubt encounter something you haven’t before at every single turn!
The kitchen is a chef’s dream, with a 48” Wolf stove with French plaque and direct vented commercial grade vent, custom panelized Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer, dual dishwashers, two pantries, professional grade Mauviel copper cookware, a collection of cast iron skillets, wine refrigerator, and every small kitchen appliance you could possibly need including a Wolf coffee maker and Ninja Bullet.
The sights and sounds of the Rapid River are just outside the door! Relax on the screened porch or lounge on the patio and grill out or make a brick oven pizza. No matter how you choose to enjoy it, the surroundings can’t be beat!
The primary Scandinavian styled suite sits across a bridge that walks over a babbling brook and features a king canopy bed and river view and centerpiece bath placed beneath an elk horn chandelier looking over the wooded landscape. Additionally, the Scandinavian room wardrobe includes a cozy, full size bed and laundry, endearingly referred to as the snore room.
The Moroccan Room is ideal for kids or an entire family and as usual, the design detail does not disappoint! Enter into the colorful …and seating room with TV where four twin bunks tuck into the wall, each with their own reading lamp and privacy curtain. Retire upstairs to the Slumber Room where one queen, three twins, a sitting area with bean bags, large screen TV, and beverage refrigerator. Lastly, a second ensuite queen bedroom, office, and full bath reside at the main house.
LITTLE OWL GUEST HOUSE

The two stall garage houses the gym and provided fly fishing equipment with plenty of room for your own mountain bikes or gear for fishing, snowmobiling or cross country skiing. Enter the home and prepare to be amazed!
The custom designed, hand carved, solid walnut walls will be first to catch your eye. The open living room is perfectly arranged for conversation, games, or quietly enjoying a wood burning fire. This space is open to the dining table and fully equipped kitchen with soapstone countertops, Wolf stove, and Sub-Zero Refrigerator. Pods are provided for the Keurig coffee maker. From here, step out onto the screened porch to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine while looking out over the river and listening to its continuous flow and babble as the water makes its way through the tree lined banks.
Back inside, you'll find the main level bath and River's Edge Spa. Enter into this space and feel the calm wash over you immediately! You may feel like you're in a warm cave with stone walls, dappled with candlelight and a floor to ceiling picture window facing the river! Robes and flip flops, wine glasses and a mini bar, complete with a mini fridge for waters and wine welcome you. A massage table and two chaise lounge chairs await. Warm up and relax after a day on the trails in the sauna. If you require more than simple relaxation, our concierge services will provide you with a massage therapist and/or other spa services to be received right there at the River's Edge Spa!
After dinner, head over to the north wing to the fabulous Hemingway Room. Make a cocktail at the bar and play pool as you unwind after your adventure during the day! The Hemingway Room opens to the patio looking over the river. Enjoy outdoor dinners as you will have both a propane gas grill and a Big Green Egg for cooking out. Lastly, warm up on a starry night next to an outdoor fire in the cowboy cauldron before retiring upstairs to Little Owl's cozy two bedrooms.
Both bedrooms look out over the river for gorgeous views anytime of the year. The master has a king bed and a five piece bath with a claw foot tub for soaking.
There is a queen bed and a set of built in twin bunks, as well as an ensuite bath in the second bedroom. The vestibule holds a queen sized sleeper sofa should guests like to spread out.
THE LAND, RIVER, AND POND
Trails are cut throughout the property to explore year round whether it be hiking and mountain biking or snowshoeing, cross country skiing or snowmobiling. Three huts set up for sporting clays are located on the property for guests who want to hone their skeet shooting skills! Guests provide their own rifles and ammunition.
The lodge sits alongside over one mile of the Rapid River which is stocked with brook, rainbow and brown trout and fly fishing equipment is provided!
The one acre pond is spring fed with a sandy bottom. Sunbathe on the beach or play on the water trampoline! Fish from the dock or use the two kayaks or row boat provided for use on the pond. Here you'll find bluegill, perch and bass.
