Old Mission Beach House
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
This is a beautiful direct waterfront home on Old Mission Peninsula. The beach has beautiful white sand, perfect for beach walks and petoskey stone hunting. Stunning sunset views from almost every room, or from one of the two patios, or the beach. There is a built in fire pit on the main slate stone patio as well as a picnic table on the sandy beach. There is a dock that invites sitting with your favorite beverage while watching the swans, loons, and the occasional eagle. There are two kayaks available for use.
The Old Mission Beach House has four bedrooms along with a "mother in law suite" on the lowest level which has a pull out queen sized sofa bed. If the mother in law suite is used, the home can sleep 11. The Beach House is a scenic 35 minute drive to the TC Horse Shows.The main floor has cherrywood floor, granite kitchen island, kitchen, Wolf oven, Sub-Zero refrigerator. A large granite and cherrywood fireplace is on the main floor as well. There is a music room with a piano. There is a screened in turret shaped porch off the kitchen with a door to the lower deck which has a gas grill. There are French doors off the living room that exit onto the deck overlooking the water. A half bathroom furnished with nautical sink, toilet is on the main floor. The laundry is on main floor as well. Most of the house has custom floor to ceiling windows to embrace the outdoors.
The master bedroom has a king bed, TV, walk in closet and French doors that open onto a balcony overlooking the bay. There are sliding screens within the French doors as well, allowing the peaceful sounds of waves to emanate the room while sleeping. The screen retract, allowing uninhibited views normally. There is a turret shaped "study" off the bedroom, again separated by French doors. Large floor to almost ceiling windows surround the turret to maximize views, with the exception of the wall that hosts the marble gas fireplace. The master bedroom bathroom has a jacuzzi tub that sits below an oval window, along with a separate shower.
Guest room #1 faces the woods and sunrises through the pine trees and has a queen bed. Guest room #2 has a twin bed at this point, but can easily be changed to a double or queen bed if desired. Guest room #3 has sleeping for four with trundle beds. There is a second full bathroom upstairs with custom oval windows. The mother in law suite sleeps two on a queen pull out sofa bed within a large sectional facing the bay. The suite has floor to ceiling windows again facing the water. There are French doors that walk out onto the lawn and beach and an outdoor shower for rising off sand or for a private shower. There is a rock gas fireplace, with several "personal" rocks from Parry Sound, Ontario, Georgian Bay, and Lake Michigan. There is a kitchenette and full bathroom on this level as well.
The house is situated in an estate like setting at the end of a private road with woods in the back. There is plenty of parking both within the garage as well as in the large driveway. The area is well known for excellent biking. While many drive to the base of the peninsula to bike this route, one can just hop on the bike from the house and ride the peninsula. The house sits amongst the wineries, with the best view from Chateau Chantel being 2.5 miles from the house. There are also numerous hiking trail systems on Old Mission Peninsula as well and of course the light house is a popular destination at the end of the peninsula. Haserot Beach is also a gem of a beach, with playground toys for families with small children. This beach is directly across the peninsula on East Bay, or about 3 miles from the house.
Relax and unwind at the Old Mission Beach House June through September 2022 for $16,000 per week. Housekeeping fees vary depending on your length of stay. Pets are considered.
